Project Highlights
Excavation West, Inc. proudly delivered comprehensive earthwork and underground utility infrastructure for the new Olmsted Community Park. This project transformed the site into a vibrant public space through precise grading, subgrade preparation, and utility installations.
Scope of Work
- Fine Grading & Subgrade Preparation: 213,353 SF (~4.9 acres) of detailed earthwork including rough and fine grading, cut/fill operations, unsuitable material removal, scarification, moisture conditioning, proof rolling, and compaction.
- Over-Excavation & Subgrade Improvement: Targeted removal and replacement of poor soils to ensure a stable foundation.
- Utility Infrastructure: 2,345 linear feet of trenching and pipe installation for water, storm, and sewer systems, along with power and communications utilities. This included pipe placement and initial backfill.
- Stormwater Management: 782 feet of 12” storm pipe installation plus shaping of stormwater features.
- Site-Wide Support: Erosion and sediment control measures, soil stockpiling and reuse, and full site preparation.
All grading, utility trenching, and related prep work was self-performed by Excavation West crews, allowing tight quality control, schedule adherence, and cost efficiency.
